SveTec-Techno Interview

SveTec: “I believe hardtechno must be side by side with techno”.

This techno interview is dedicated to one of the most important hardtechno Dj/producers all around the world: Adam Szvetek aka SveTec.
Adam was born in Szeged, Hungary. He has been a musician most of his life, at first he handed several years to the studying of piano and flute.

SveTec has being an active member of the techno/hardtechno movement in a worldwide level, for more than 11 years as a Dj/producer.

Some of his productions, including “We Won´t Stay Dead” have become anthems of the Hardtechno genre.

Recently we were able to enjoy SveTec´s performance in the X Edition of Montagood Festival, where he was responsible of closing the show and give back all the energy spent during  hours of dancing to the audience.

This year he has had several performances in Spain -a country that he very much loves-, including Techno Flash, Montagood and Selvatek Festival that will be on 5th July.

SveTec  is full of good energy, a lot of creativity and professionalism.

1)BTS: You have played in Montagood Festival three times. What do you think about the spanish audience?

S: I have played in Montagood Festival three times and several times in Spain. I love the Spanish public, they are cheerful and lots of fun. Happy people with very good vibes at the parties. I have lots of fun with them.

2)BTS: We know that you studied piano and flute for several years. How has classical music contributed to your hardtechno productions?

S: Yes, I studied to play on piano for four years and on flute for eight years and during that time  I listened to lots of classical music, from composers such as Beethoven, Mozart among others.

These years were really important and marked my development as a musician, setting a base that nowadays can be perceived through certain melodies in my productions.

3)BTS: Of all your productions, do you have a favorite track?

S: I like all my productions, but there are always different levels, I like some tracks more than others. For example, “I´m gonna be high”… I love the vocals part and the combination of the melodies with these vocals, I think its special.

Then I like some of the latest tracks like “Daddy´s Pussy”, “Cyborg Love”, “We Won´t Stay Dead” or some of the older ones like “Robodance”, “Lets Do It Anyway”.  But next to all tunes maybe the most special one for me is my first released tune, the I Will Be Your Dentist”.

4) BTS: We have listened to one of your techno sets from 2013 and one from World Vibes Festival  from last weekend in Portugal. How long have you been playing techno as well?

S: Since 2002 or 2003, I can´t be sure right now. I started playing the techno of that time, but then it started changing until it became too minimal and I gradually left it on the side , since I didn´t really like it that much. But for me techno always goes hand by hand with hardtechno.

Techno sounding has been getting stronger and dynamic for some time now though and I am more concentrated on it.

Nowadays the techno sounding is something what we can feel ours again.  In last november I became resident of one of the greatest hungarian techno organisation, the Concorde Events, where I have possibility to represent my powerful, marching techno style time by time.

I am currently producing some techno tracks with one of my friend named Nils. Our collaboration called as “Steam Shape” and I am very happy to announce we are waiting for our first solo release, which will be out very soon on a quite well-known label.

5)BTS: What do you think about all the hardtechno djs/producers who are also playing techno?

S:  I think it´s ok, as I said I believe hardtechno must be side by side with techno. The thing is hardtechno comes from techno, it is techno just in a harder skin and edition.

I think the artists who play hardtechno shouldn´t forget that and leave techno on the side, that is quite important. We should  make hardtechno respecting the techno sound.
