For BTS, two of the most interesting sides of techno are the deeper and the industrial sound.

Characterized by endless pulsating beats, melodies that sound like sharp metals and acid or psychedelic touches, industrial techno is one for the darkest basement clubs around the world.

While the deeper techno presents very experimental, minimalist, hypnotic and sublime sound, taking the audience on a journey through the senses.
The combination of both may create a surreal atmosphere from which is hard to leave once you get inside.
Furthermore, we REALLY love it when this kind of techno is produced by women. If you’re new to this sound or just want to find out a bit more about the women who are taking the style by storm, BTS takes a look at 6 techno Djanes who specialise in the deep and industrial sound.
Techno Djanes -Hemka

Hemka

Hemka

First of all, let’s start with Hemka. Hemka recently released Rabbit in Wonderland, what she refers to as her “weirdest track ever”, which is saying something!

Hemka’s sound is defined by unusual, jarring harmonics that combine with eerie industrial atmospherics.

It seems like an enigma that Hemka is a French Djane who started off as a bass guitar player.

Nowadays she relies on synths to create her individual sound.

This is techno that could soundtrack a horror movie in Wonderland.

Micol Danieli

Micol Danieli

Micol Danieli is arguably one of the hippest techno Dj

anes around right now. Hopping between Rome, Berlin and NYC, she cites the likes of Laurent Garnier among her influences.

The italian artist’s sound is characterised by a keen desire to experiment and explore uncharted waters while keeping one foot in the past.

She enjoys both old school and new school sounds, and has hosted her own label nights at the likes of Vitamin Cubes (Georgia) and La Bibliotechina (Rome).

Also, her label [030 Recordings] is hosting a night in December at the legendary Berghain.

techno-djanes-hydrangea

Hydrangea

Hydrangea’s brand of deep techno, is much moodier than many other techno Djanes.

Her music is more chilled-out than banging, much as for soothing your head the day after a night of raving.

Artwork is important to Hydrangea’s identity as a Djane, and each of her releases are exquisitely produced, both sonically and graphically.

If you love to relax to deep, with mixes of abstract sounds that take you to a pleasing world, Hydrangea is your gateway.

techno-djanes-jeane-isadou

Jeane Isadou

Jeane Isadou

Jeane Isadou’s sound is a bit more traditional than most others on this list. She merges her industrial soundscapes with classic techno influences to create music that is dark and soulful – but danceable.

Hailing from the Netherlands, Jean has taken her heavy deep beats to established clubs such as Studio 80 and the Sugar Factory.

In addition to her known Radio Shows alongside Dj Rush, Jeane Isadou has performed Festivals like ADE and Blenderz, among many others.

techno-djanes-kata-mercado

Kata Mercado

Kata Mercado

Kata Mercado was born in the soulful city of Santiago, Chile, where techno is more than just a passion – it’s how many dance music fans celebrate life itself.

Once she moved to Berlin, Kata’s music took on a new life. Her releases on labels such as Naked Lunch and Sick Weird Rough Records are real show-stoppers.

Influenced by Perc and Moderat among others, Kata likes to collide forceful beats with complex melodies to create a unique dystopian sound.

techno-djanes-jamaica-suk

Jamaica Suk

Jamaica Suk

For ending our list of Techno Djanes, we have another complete artist: Jamaica Suk.

Like Kate Mercado, Jamaica Suk is based in Berlin, where her sound becomes rich by the daily life.

Her style is glitchy and minimal, most of all,  its full of artistic influences.

Among different works, she recently remixed the track The Evil Magician by the vocalist Dugong, and Likatree.

The track is going to be released soon, Vinyl only on the Berlin based label Occultists.

These are our 6 favourite techno Djanes that produce different kind of amazing deep and industrial sound.

Feel free to leave a comment below with the name of a Djane you like to much and why you like her!
