Steam Shape Show A Cutting-edge Techno From Its Dark Side
Steam Shape could be described as on the most Dynamic Duos in the world of Techno music in Europe.
They now present us their new Turning and Twisting EP.
Formerly known as SveTec and Nils, both artists hail from Budapest where they have played together since 2005.
In 2007 both went their separate ways, yet remained true to their roots even as they evolved individually.
Each played in important venues in Hungary and abroad where they were recognized for their contributions to the scene.
2012 did not give us the end of the world predicted the Mayan Calendar, but the beginning new era when these two eventually became Steam Shape.
Since then Steam Shape has presented their work on different labels:
Boundless EP (2014) with the label Driving Forces Digital Series.
Forward Motion EP (2015) for the label AnalyticTrail
Eriss EP (2015) realeased by Phobiq.
Now the Steam Shape duo has created Metaphase, their own label.
With this project they intend express their own musical ideas, in addition to working with other guest artists.
Metaphase’s first release, the Turning and Twisting EP, unravels before us the story of a mental journey through three amazing tracks.
Right from the get go and setting the tone for the Turning and Twisting EP, Ramble feels like the intro to some mystery film from the eighties.
Rigid grounding is expanded by synth riffs. Pressure builds up slowly until it transforms into euphoria.
Seeking Destinations is the second act of the Turning and Twisting Ep. Here you might find yourself in the middle of a mental labyrinth…
Vocals lead you to find your “destination” among different pathways with percussive elements complementing the kick drum of this bouncy track.
One can make their way Out Of The Maze, through booming sub frequencies and finally the release of emotions granted by the drop.
This track is the climax of the Turning and Twisting EP. In it synth elements are set with a dark mood.
